    Hello,

I'd like to change many <Hn> tags inside the blog posts :

    • remove the <H6> tag in the prev/next post links
    • remove the <H2> tag in the post author info
    • change <H5> to <H2> in the related posts section
    • change <H1> to <H3> for the posts titles in the related posts section

Could you help me finding where to change those different things ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Emmanuelle

    Hello Emmanuelle,

in order to do that a theme modification would be needed. Since you're asking about making specific changes I assume you know what a child theme is and how it can be used to override parent theme.

    In order to:

    1) Remove <h6> tags from prev / next post links you need to copy 'pukka_post_navigation' function from elliot/include/template_tags.php file to child theme's functions.php file.

Function is pluggable so you shouldn't have any problems copying it and this are the places which you need to edit: http://prntscr.com/f9d4xr

    2) Remove <h2> tag from post author info you need to make a modification very similar to above. Copy and edit 'pukka_post_author' function from 'elliot/include/template_tags.php' file to child theme's functions.php. This is the place you need to edit: http://prntscr.com/f9d6s5

    3) & 4) Change related posts heading you'll need to check 2 files. Similar to 1) and 2) you should copy 'pukka_related_posts' from template_tags.php to child theme's functions.php file. Also, note that that function includes 'partials/loop/content-related.php' file ( http://prntscr.com/f9d86d ) and that you probably want to adjust it as well (simply copy entire file to child theme respecting directory structure).

Thanks a lot Marko, I was beginning to go crazy about that thing ^^

It seems alright now, but still the appearance isn't quite as good as it was before....
May I ask you to help me with this again ?

Thanks a lot for your patience...

    Hello Emmanuelle,

if you replaced existing html tags with your own you should style them as well as that kind of request falls out of support scope.

If you don't mind sharing a link to exact place you wand adjusted I could take a quick look and possibly provide a CSS snippet which you can use as a starting point.

You're right, I'm sorry to bother you with that.

unfortunately I can't share this website (development environnement), but thanks for offering your help, I'll try to handle it all by myself ;)

    Thanks again for your help

Oh, and one last thing, sorry about that :

"Leave a comment" shouldn't be using a <h3> tag, could you tell me where I can change this either ?

    Thank you so much !

    Hello,

    you're welcome

As for comments issue, I believe you should override comments.php file: http://prntscr.com/f9rv40

  • Lellouche Emmanuelle replied

Arf, no, I was talking about the <h3> tag, which allows you to write comments...

    It's not inside comments.php , if I'm not mistaken ?

    Hello,

you should check 'pukka_comments' function which is located in 'elliot/include/theme_setup.php' file and 'comment_form_defaults' filter to which it is hooked to, but I believe that is default WP markup.
